Podcast Hosting

I see MediaStream provides audio and video streaming services, but are you capable of hosting a podcast? Do you have anything service-related akin to Callin.com or BuzzSprout.com? I don't know about Callin, but BuzzSprout outsources AWS for the hosting of podcasts on their platform.

jonah Most of our clients use a CMS like WordPress/Joomla/Drupal (or similar) employing a podcast plugin that keeps the various podcast aggregators/directories up to sync. This way you control the content of your podcast and distribute your episodes to the major outlets.

I'd reach out to Marty Daniels from Podovox for ideas. Marty has been a client of ours for a good couple decades as well as a good friend. He's been in the radio industry/pocast/voiceover/adverising/website design space for decades and has good advice.

Marty My apologies, but I am a little confused. I didn't see that Will summed things up on how MediaServe is used as a podcast host. He pointed out that most clients use a CMS + a podcast plugin, but I'm failing to see the part about MediaServe actually hosting the podcast. Maybe @Will could break this down a little more...?

jonah It's probably simpler than you expect it to be. I recall that you're not a big fan of WordPress, but here's a podcast plugin that provides a lot of useful features.

This one is popular and it includes podast hosting from the developer, but you can entirely host podcasts from WordPress storage directly as well and distribute them to aggregators. There's really nothing you can't do with MediaServe and WordPress podcast plugins.

A podcast, is an audio or video file that is hosted on a server and available for on demand listening. As new episodes are added to a folder those are then share / distributed through the use of those CMS plugins to various aggregates / directories like Spotify, Apple, YouTube, etc.
